About Velfi Interiors
Velfi Interiors was founded in November 2025 by Oscar Dean after nearly a decade working on some of the most demanding architectural film projects in the UK. The business started with one principle. Do it properly or don't do it at all.
The story
Oscar started in the industry as an apprentice. Not as an apprentice who watched other people work and made the tea. One who was on the tools from day one, learning how architectural film installation actually works from the people doing it best.
Over the following years, the work got bigger. Lead installer on commercial programmes across Cambridge and beyond. Then production manager, responsible for the planning, coordination and quality control of major projects including NHS Cambridgeshire, ARM Cambridge HQ, the University of Cambridge, multiple science and technology companies across Cambridge, luxury hotel projects and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
Those projects taught things that a residential wrapping job never would. How to plan a programme around a hospital's clinical schedule. How to manage quality on a national retail rollout where standards have to be identical in Cambridge and across the UK. How to work in an environment where there's no margin for error and no option to come back and fix it quietly later.
In November 2025, Velfi Interiors was founded. The name comes from the Latin velare, meaning to cover or veil, and fi for film. The positioning is straightforward. Wrap. Don't Replace. Give Cambridge homeowners and commercial clients the same quality of work that the biggest names in the country have been getting for years, at a price point that makes sense.
Every project is overseen and quality-checked throughout. If something isn't right, it gets fixed before sign-off. That's not a marketing line. It's how every project has always been run and how it will always be run. The 10-year warranty on every install is only meaningful if the person behind it is prepared to stand by it.
Career timeline
Started in the sign and graphics industry from the ground up. Hands-on across production and installation from day one. Building fundamentals in vinyl application, surface preparation, materials and on-site work in live environments. This is where it all began.
Progressed into a broader coordinator role working across signage, graphics and installation projects. Growing client communication responsibilities alongside continued hands-on installation work across Cambridge and the surrounding area.
Promoted to production manager. Responsible for managing multiple live projects simultaneously, from survey and quotation through to production and installation. During this period the project work expanded significantly, including significant architectural film and window film installations at the University of Cambridge, delivery of high-standard branding and interior graphics for science and technology companies across Cambridge, window film and architectural film installation in luxury hotel environments, and marine interior work with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
Founded Velfi Interiors in November 2025. Nearly a decade of commercial and residential experience behind it before the first project was taken on. The aim was straightforward: bring the same standard of work that Cambridge's most demanding clients had been getting for years to homeowners, landlords and businesses across Cambridgeshire, at a price that makes sense.
The standard
Every surface cleaned, degreased and primed before film is applied. This step is what most budget installers skip. It's also the step that determines whether a wrap lasts two years or ten.
Film wrapped 10mm onto the rear of door panels as standard. Not trimmed flush to the edge. Trimming flush is faster. It's also why wraps lift. This step is never skipped regardless of how easy it would be to do so.
If anything isn't right at the end of the job, it gets fixed before sign-off and before the final invoice. No exceptions. The 10-year warranty only means something if that commitment is real.
