What is coloured window film?

Where coloured film makes sense.

The most practical application is a south or west-facing Cambridge office or home that overheats in summer. A neutral grey solar film reduces heat gain significantly without making the room dark or dramatically changing the appearance of the glass from outside. The colour is subtle enough to be barely noticeable. The reduction in heat is immediately felt.

Decorative colour applications are more common in hospitality and retail. A warm amber tint on a restaurant window changes how the light feels inside the space. A cool grey on a commercial facade gives visual weight and definition to large areas of glazing. In residential interiors, coloured film on a feature window or glazed panel can create an architectural effect that painted glass achieves at a fraction of the cost and completely reversibly.

All coloured films are fully removable without damaging the glass and can be changed if requirements or aesthetics change. Physical samples are always provided before any work is confirmed so you can check the colour effect in your own space first.
