Living Space Wrapping Cambridge
The fireplace surround that's been the same since the house was built. The alcove units that came with the property and never quite matched anything. The internal doors that someone painted magnolia fifteen years ago. All of it can be transformed using professional architectural film. No decorating, no builders, no mess. Done in a day.
What is living space wrapping?
There's always one surface in a living room that doesn't quite work. The fireplace surround that came with the house and has never suited it. The alcove shelving that was built in at some point and clashes with everything else. The internal doors that are hollow, magnolia and about twenty years past their best.
Architectural film wrapping changes any of those surfaces completely. The film goes directly over the existing surface. Nothing gets removed, sanded or replastered. No builders, no dust, no drying time. You leave for the day and come home to a different room.
A fireplace surround wrapped in a dark marble or slate effect changes the feel of an entire room. It's the first thing anyone looks at when they walk in. Getting it right makes everything around it look better too. Alcove units wrapped in a consistent finish look built-in and deliberate rather than added as an afterthought. Internal doors wrapped in matte charcoal or warm oak throughout a house create a thread of quality that runs from room to room.
The films available cover over 1,000 finishes from concrete and marble to woodgrain, metallic, stone and solid colour. Physical samples are sent before anything is confirmed so you can see the finish in your own home first.
Everything installed by Velfi Interiors carries a 10-year warranty. The film is also fully removable without damaging the surface underneath, so if you ever want to change the look in the future, you can.
Surface by surface
Not every surface in a living room has equal impact. These are the ones where wrapping delivers the most noticeable change for the spend.
The focal point of most living rooms. Dated stone effects, tired beige MDF and painted wood surrounds wrapped in dark marble, slate, concrete or rich timber. The difference in a room is immediate and dramatic.
Built-in shelving and cabinetry that wraps the alcoves either side of a chimney breast. Wrapped in a finish that ties the whole room together, it looks like it was always meant to be that way.
Plain hollow-core doors throughout the house wrapped in a consistent finish. Matte black, warm oak, dark charcoal. The change from magnolia to something considered makes every room feel different.
Newel posts, spindle panels and balustrade surrounds. One of the more dramatic single changes available, especially on open-plan ground floors where the staircase is a dominant visual element.
Architectural film on a full wall creates something that reads as premium cladding. Concrete effects, stone, marble and geometric finishes. Fully removable if your taste changes.
A consistent finish on skirting, door frames and architrave throughout the house ties everything together. Particularly effective alongside wrapped doors for a result that feels complete rather than partial.
