What is gradient window film?

The problem gradient film solves.

Ground-floor windows in Cambridge terraced houses, new builds and converted properties face the same problem. The window brings in natural light and provides a view upward, but at eye level from the street or a neighbouring garden there's no privacy. Most people solve this with blinds that stay down all day, or net curtains that block the view in both directions and photograph badly in listing photos.

Gradient film solves it properly. From floor height up to around shoulder height the glass is frosted or opaque. Above that it's completely clear. You get natural light from the upper part of the window, a view of the sky and trees, and privacy at the level where it actually matters. The transition point and gradient style can be specified exactly for your window.

The same approach works in offices. Glazed partitions where full transparency at desk height feels exposing can have gradient film applied to the lower section. The space keeps its open, light feel. People at desks have appropriate screening. The balance is right without compromising the architectural intent of the glazed partition.
